ACE sprinter Kavita Pandya was plagued
with a hamstring injury, a hindrance to her budding career.
Timely treatment with micro-currents, however, not only
helped her recover but also saw her go on to win four gold
medals at the federation cup games held at Bangalore this
year.
Micro-current machines another step in
the expensive field of electrophysiology, promoting a painless
and non-invasive alternative medication system, were recently
launched in the city. Says Dr Sanghavi who has pioneered
this line of treatment in Mumbai. "The machines pass
currents which are not very vigorous and increase the cell
energy level by three to five times, thereby rejuvenating
the patient." Sanghavi also emphasises the ability
of the micro-current to disperse collagen material, the
root causes of stiffness "Through regular and repeated
treatment, this current enhances the survival rate and general
health of the patient."
The introduction of this technology took
place when Sanghavi was exposed to it through his association
with US based doctor Jim Suzuki in 1982. Seeing the phenomenal
recovery of a patient with a limp through this painless
procedure Sanghavi decided to introduce these micro-current
computers in India too.
More on this technology. According to Sanghavi,
since the time of its inception, the total number of patients
treated by Bio Thereaupatic Computers (BTC) have been 207,
where 75 per cent cases showed significant to moderate improvement
and the remaining showed a mild improvement at the end of
the treatment. All the patients were treated by the E-2000
and elite models, which have build-in software programmes
for various medical disorders together with a manual made
to choose frequency, ampere and wave form patterns to apply
on the patients. "This technology has been successfully
used for various medical conditions like muscle toning,
frozen shoulders, hamstring tears and spasms of paraspinal
muscles, to name a few".
This line of treatment does not have any
side effects, says the doctor. And the application of this
procedure is also being used for beauty purposes. "Beauty
applications include working on the face muscles which get
tightened with the help of these currents. In other words,
it is a non-surgical face lift."
Describing the human body as a collection
of cells which can be seen as an electrical generator which
generates electrical currents, Sanghavi adds, "The
micro-current technology works hand in hand with these current
and cecognises the body as self healing organism that supports
its many natural functions.

Technology, obviously, seems the order
of the day in the beauty industry. The latest in face lifts
is the Microcurrent Technology. We don't know whether it
truly works or whether there are any hazards, but it involves
the use of electricity of extremely low ampere (one millionth
of an ampere) on your skin. The current stimulates cells
to function, increases blood circulation, lymphatic flow
and protein synthesis. The technology can be used in massages,
cellulite control, scar treatments and non surgical face
lifts. Contact Dr. Jigna Thakkar or Manisha at the Bio Therapeutic
Clinic, Mumbai.
The latest treatment that Pune's creamy core are talking
about is Bio-Ultimate firming facial which apparently, redefines
skin care. If you are wondering why this new treatment on
the block is any different from the scores of beauty treatments
available, this is what Somya of Chez Somya has to say.
"This treatment uses micro currents programmed to the
individual's body setting. The minute the probe touches
you, it adjusts to the levels that your body can take."
Being the only salon in Pune that has a state-of-the-art
bio therapeutic computer which uses current therapy polarised
water as a conductive agent, Somya's high profile clients
have been raving about the miraculous results. Whether it's
the Intensive eye treatment or the body firming treatment,
a dermatology disorder correction or cellulite control,
most of her clients, who are on the wrong side of 30, can't
stop discussing how they managed to minus years without
a painful tuck and a nip.
The micro current therapy uses a range of micro currents
to potentate tissue function in the human body by modulated
waves. Apparently this technology has also been successfully
applied in beauty treatments in the US, Japan, Hong Kong,
China and in Asia Pacific regions for muscle toning, wrinkle
reduction, lymphatic drainage and scar and acne removal.
It works on toning and tightening the muscles without any
vibration or a strong sensation.
